Hero Cops Rescue Boy from River Brent in Daring Afternoon Save
Three quick-thinking cops sprung into action to save a child from the River Brent in West London last Saturday. The dramatic rescue unfolded near Studland Road, Hanwell, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Rapid Response Near Studland Road
Police Sergeant Yusuf Hassaniyeh, PCSO James Tupman, and PC Lee Dahir were alerted by a concerned member of the public about a child struggling in the water shortly after 3 PM. Arriving within minutes, the officers found the boy trapped waist-deep and unresponsive.
Without hesitation, Sgt Hassaniyeh plunged into the river. He said, “When the call was circulated, there was no hesitation. We knew that every second counted, and we were determined to reach the child before it was too late.”
Life-Saving Teamwork
With PCSO Tupman and PC Dahir helping, the sergeant managed to haul the boy to safety. Paramedics were on hand to take over, ensuring the nine-year-old was quickly cared for and unharmed.

Acting Chief Inspector Jonathon Hubbard hailed the officers’ courage, saying, “Their bravery exemplifies the finest qualities of the police service. We are immensely proud of their actions, which may well have saved a child’s life.”
The rescued boy was soon reunited with his family, all safe and sound after the terrifying ordeal.
