Detectives are on the lookout for a red Ford Focus estate linked to a shocking burglary in Thurnscoe on Wednesday, 22 March. The vehicle, believed to be driving on false number plates, is a key piece in this ongoing investigation.

71-Year-Old Woman Injured in Collision

Just before 8:10pm, emergency services were called to St Helens Close. A 71-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle while trying to stop her car being stolen. The collision came moments after a burglary at the same address. The offenders fled and abandoned the car nearby. The victim remains in hospital receiving treatment for significant injuries.

The stolen car was recovered in Thurnscoe on Saturday, but officers need help tracing its movements around the time of the incident. They’re urging anyone who spotted the red Ford Focus in the Barnsley area to come forward.
