Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield Slammed for ‘Queue Jumping’ to See Queen Lying in State
Outrage is brewing after Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield were spotted using a press pass to view the Queen lying in state—while the public queued for hours. ITV has hit back, but fans remain furious.
ITV Defends Holly and Phil: ‘They Were Working’
ITV insists the pair were not skipping the queue but attending in a professional capacity. The channel said, “We requested Phillip and Holly’s participation in a film for this Tuesday’s show. They were there in a professional capacity as members of the international media to cover the event; they did not skip the line, have VIP access, or file past the Queen lying in state.”
Viewers Furious: ‘They Should’ve Waited Like Everyone Else’
But This Morning’s loyal viewers have slammed the claim. One social media user fumed, “Always loved Holly and Phil. Today, I’ve lost all respect for them. They ought to have waited their turn to show respect, just like David Beckham. I don’t think they deserve any special treatment! Bad decision.”
Another fiery comment read, “Totally disgusting behaviour by the entire This Morning team who thought it was appropriate to queue jump. There were still people in line who were elderly, disabled, and far more famous than they were. Sorry, but there was no need for them two to be there since there was other television coverage. They ought to have stood in line with everyone else if they wanted to go.”
This Morning Faces Backlash as Respect for Presenters Takes a Hit
Anger continues to swirl online as many say Holly and Phil have lost audience trust. “Since you should have known better, you have lost any respect audiences once had for your programme and presenters,” wrote a viewer.
The controversy shows no signs of cooling as viewers demand fairness and respect for those who queued for hours to pay their respects to the late Queen.
