Arson Strikes Queens Park Playground – Kids Left Devastated
Families have been left heartbroken after a ruthless arson attack tore through the children’s play area at Queens Park this morning.
Playground Left in Ruins After Blaze
Maintenance crews stumbled upon the charred wreckage during routine checks and litter picks. The fire caused extensive damage to the play equipment, forcing officials to cordon off the area for public safety.
The cost to replace the destroyed gear is a hefty £25,000 to £30,000, with hopes pinned on a summer reopening.
Police Probe Underway – CCTV Being Reviewed
Sussex Police have launched an investigation. CCTV footage is currently under review as authorities hunt for the culprits behind this senseless vandalism.
Council Condemns ‘Disgusting’ Act
“I simply cannot understand why anyone would want to damage a children’s playground,” said Councillor Alan Robins, Cabinet Member for Sport and Recreation. “We’ve worked hard to make play facilities fun and enjoyable, only to have that ruined by a mindless act of vandalism.”
Robins urged anyone with information to come forward immediately by contacting Sussex Police on 101.
Queens Park Families Left Waiting
For now, kids and families will have to wait until repairs are completed before enjoying the park’s play area again. The community hopes this vile crime won’t dampen their spirit.
