Woman Attacked and Bitten by Dog in Ryde

Police on the Isle of Wight are hunting witnesses after a woman was attacked and bitten by a dog in Ryde.

The victim was walking her Chihuahua along Appley Walk, near Appley Tower, when she passed a dog resembling a Boxer breed. The dog was tied to a pole at the time of the incident.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

The attack happened around 3.30pm on Monday. Police Constable Dave Hughes said: “Were you at Appley Tower at the time? Did you see what happened or know who owns the dog?”

The police also took the chance to remind all dog owners to be responsible when out walking their pets to prevent incidents like this.
