Two Dead, Two Injured in Horror A272 Crash
Fatal Collision Rocks Sussex Road
Emergency crews rushed to the A272 at around 11.30am on Monday, March 28, after a horrific collision involving three vehicles. A silver Ford Fiesta, a white Ford Fiesta, and a Scania tipper truck crashed in a smash that left two people dead at the scene.
Victims Named, Others Seriously Hurt
- An 83-year-old man from Worthing and a 30-year-old woman from Kent were pronounced dead on site.
- Two 23-year-old women, both from Kent, were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Road Closures and Police Appeal
The crash shut down the road as police, fire, ambulance, and air ambulance teams scrambled to respond. Detective Sergeant Rob Baldwin of the Surrey & Sussex Serious Collision Investigation Unit urged motorists and locals to come forward:
“We want to speak to anyone who was travelling on the A272 between Cowfold village and Littleworth Lane between 11.15am and 11.30am with dashcam footage. Residents or businesses with CCTV covering that stretch should get in touch.”
