Violent robbery in South Belfast – police hunt two thugs
Woman attacked for wallet and phone
Police are urgently appealing for information after a terrifying robbery in south Belfast. On Monday 2nd January, a woman in her 50s was targeted by two men near Fitzroy Avenue between 8:20pm and 8:30pm.
Sergeant Rooney revealed, “The woman was first approached and demanded to hand over her wallet and phone. When she crossed the road to escape, the two suspects followed her, with one pushing her against a wall.”
Suspects flee on foot towards Ormeau Road
The men fled the scene on foot, heading towards Ormeau Road, making off with the victim’s phone, wallet containing bank cards, and some cash.
Police release suspect descriptions
- One man is in his 30s, wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, and red trainers.
- The second man is in his 40s, with dark hair. He was wearing a “123” (possibly incomplete description).
Detectives urge anyone with information to come forward immediately to help catch these dangerous offenders.
