Chaos in Cassiobury Park as Deer Chased by Off-Leash Dogs

Drama unfolded in Cassiobury Park around 7pm last Friday (16 April) when a deer was chased by two unleashed lurcher-type dogs. The frantic chase ended with the deer getting tangled in fencing and injured.

Officers Rush to Rescue Injured Deer

Police officers arrived quickly to free the trapped animal. Thankfully, the deer managed to break free and fled before it could be caught or treated further. It has not been found since.

Police Hunt for Rogue Dog Owners

PC Jenny Edwards from the Rural Operational Support Team said, “We’re working to understand exactly what happened. If you witnessed the incident, please contact us.”

She added, “We urgently want to trace the owners of these dogs. If this was you or you know who they are, get in touch now. Remember, dog owners must know when and where dogs need to be on leads.”
