Police Hunt Witnesses After Fatal Crash Kills Elderly Man on A143

Police are urgently seeking witnesses after an elderly man was tragically killed in a fatal collision on the A143 near Earsham, Bungay in the early hours of Sunday, 29 November 2020.

Tragic Crash Claims Life of Elderly Pedestrian

Emergency services arrived at 1.12am following reports of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian. The man, believed to be in his mid-70s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities closed the road while they carried out investigations. The A143 reopened at 11.33am after the scene was cleared.

Man Found Wearing Distinctive Clothes

The victim is described as white, 65-80 years old, around 5ft 6in tall, bald with grey hair at the back and sides, and of average build. He wore a navy blue fleece top with a JCB logo on the shoulder, grey trousers, a dark grey/blue baseball cap featuring a small penguin motif, and navy blue slippers with Velcro straps.

Police Plea for Information and Identification

“We would be grateful for anyone who may have seen the man on this stretch of road or in the local area in the early hours to get in touch. We also encourage families to check on elderly male relatives matching this description,” said Acting Inspector Michael Roxby.
