Woman Raped Near Heron’s Reach Golf Course – Man Arrested
Police were alerted at around 7.20pm on Friday, October 14, after a woman was raped outdoors near the golf course at Heron’s Reach. A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape but has been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
Investigation Underway – Police Step Up Patrols
Detective Chief Inspector Jane Webb of Lancashire Police said: “We understand this will cause concern for local residents. We have increased patrols to reassure the community. We are also conducting house-to-house visits and reviewing CCTV footage.”
Specially trained officers are supporting the victim during this difficult time.
Help Police Find Key Witnesses
Officers are keen to speak to anyone in the area between 7pm and 7.20pm on Friday night. In particular, they want to identify three teenage boys seen cycling and playing music on the outer path of the Village / Heron’s Reach Golf Course, near Heron’s Way access, around 7.10-7.15pm.
