Tragic Hit-and-Run in Stockwell: Young Woman Killed
A young woman has been killed in a shock hit-and-run on Clapham Road, Stockwell. The driver fled the scene after the smash at around 4am on Sunday, 5 August, leaving the victim fatally injured.
Fleeing Driver Sparks Urgent Police Hunt
Police and the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene following reports of a collision. They found the woman in her 20s critically injured. Despite efforts to save her, she died at the scene. Officers are scrambling to track down the hit-and-run driver who sped off immediately after the crash.
Witness Appeal Launched
Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the investigation. Detective Sergeant Jose-Paulo Qureshi said:
“A young woman has lost her life in this tragic collision. We are doing everything to find the vehicle involved and urge the driver to come forward now. We also need anyone who witnessed the incident, especially those with dash-cam footage, to contact us.”
