Driver Rams Pensioner in Shocking Mile Elm Attack
Last Friday morning, a man in his 70s was left bruised and battered after a shocking road rage incident in Mile Elm. At around 10.30 a.m., the victim was out walking with a friend when a heated verbal row erupted with a male driver.
Witnesses say the driver then deliberately drove at the pensioner, knocking him up onto the car’s bonnet before he fell to the ground.
Victim Hospitalised But Avoids Serious Injury
The victim suffered multiple cuts and bruises and was taken to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries were not life-threatening.
The driver sped off towards Calne, having been spotted heading in the Bromham direction moments before.
Police Hunt Silver Lexus and Mystery Motorist
Police are on the lookout for the culprit, described as a white male in his 30s with brown or dark hair, believed to be the only person in the vehicle. The car is thought to be a silver Lexus, possibly displaying a number plate starting with MK71 or MK17.
“This was a terrifying incident for the victim involved, and it goes without saying that he could have easily sustained serious injuries,” said PC Storm Brand.
“Since the incident occurred, we have been working hard to try to identify the vehicle involved and the driver responsible. We now need the public’s assistance and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
