Blaze Breaks Out in Dartford Cornfield – Arson Suspected
Kent Fire and Rescue Service raced to tackle a blaze raging in a hedgerow off Shirehall Road, Hawley, Dartford. The fire quickly spread to a nearby cornfield, sparking panic.
Five Fire Engines Battle Flames
Five fire engines and a fogging unit slammed into action. Firefighters used powerful hose reel jets to douse the flames and stop the fire from spreading further. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Police Investigate Possible Arson
Kent Police have launched an investigation amid claims the fire was deliberately started. “Deliberate fires not only risk lives but pull firefighters away from other emergencies,” warned officials.
Officers are hunting for witnesses, especially anyone who was near the toilets or close by when the fire broke out, after CCTV footage suggested possible onlookers.
