Police are hunting witnesses after a dramatic disturbance in Church Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, erupted with gunshots just after 11pm on Saturday, 5 October.
Late Night Clash Between Men Shakes Quiet Street
The chaos involved a tense altercation between one man and a small group. Fortunately, no-one was injured in the incident.
Eyewitnesses reported a dark saloon car speeding off immediately after the shots rang out. The exact source of the gunfire remains under investigation.
Detectives Urge Public to Speak Up
Detective Inspector Jon Gillings stressed the importance of community help: “This was an isolated incident and there were no reports of anyone having been hurt. We need to establish exactly what happened, and hence we’d ask any witnesses to call without delay.”
