Car Overturns on Icy A2, Causing Major Road Closures
Kent Police were called at 8.20am on Saturday 27 November 2021 after a car flipped on the A2 coast-bound between Wincheap and Bridge. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Icy Conditions Spark Chaos
The crash caused the A2 to be blocked, forcing authorities to shut the carriageway to keep the public safe. Ice on the roads has made conditions treacherous, leading to ongoing closures between Wincheap and Bridge. The London-bound side is also closed up to Brenley Corner.
Highways Teams Scramble to Reopen Road
Crews are urgently clearing ice and working to make the road safe. Drivers are urged to avoid the area until the A2 fully reopens.
