Brutal Late-Night Attack in Newark: Police Hunt Three Men
Just after 2am on Sunday, 26 March, chaos erupted on Middle Gate in Newark. Two brothers were savagely attacked while heading to another pub on a night out.
Unprovoked Assault Leaves One Man Unconscious
The 39-year-old victim was knocked unconscious and rushed to Queen’s Medical Centre. His brother suffered minor injuries in the shocking assault.
Police Release CCTV as Manhunt Begins
Detective Inspector Paul Lefford slammed the attack as “horrendous” and urged the public to help identify the three suspects captured on CCTV. The men targeted the brothers without warning as they made their way back to The Duck pub after hitting several venues.
“We are determined to catch those responsible for this unprovoked attack causing immeasurable distress for the man’s family and friends,” said DI Lefford. “Do you recognise the three men in the CCTV image? If you are one of them, contact us immediately.”
Appeal for Witnesses and Information
- Police want anyone who witnessed the attack or who helped the victim by administering first aid to come forward.
- Anyone in the Middle Gate area at the time with information is urged to get in touch.
