Police Raid Uncovers Nine Possibly Stolen Dogs
Officers swooped on a property Friday afternoon and removed nine dogs amid theft suspicions. The pack included seven Spaniels, a Dachshund, and a Labrador.
Microchip checks revealed the pooches might be stolen. They were taken to a safe location outside the force area for further investigation.
Owners Still Missing – Dogs to Be Rehomed
If no owners come forward, the dogs will be rehomed to new families. Meanwhile, vets carried out welfare checks on all other animals at the scene, including several other dogs.
An improvement notice was issued, meaning follow-up visits to the address are on the cards.
No Arrests Yet, Enquiries Continue
Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Andy Reeves said: “We understand how important dogs are to people and this is why we will act on intelligence received by our communities.
“We executed this warrant as soon as it was granted, and the work by our officers meant we did not leave until the early hours of this morning.”
“I would urge owners to ensure that once they have had dogs microchipped that they remember to register them otherwise it is very difficult to identify who they belong to.”
