Teen Narrowly Escapes Attempted Abduction in Hazel Grove

A 14-year-old boy had a chilling encounter on Monday, March 20, around 5pm on Jacksons Lane, Hazel Grove. A man in an orange and black Mini pulled over in a layby and asked the boy to get into his car.

He then followed the boy slowly along the lane in the car. Thankfully, the quick-thinking teen made it home safe and sound.

Suspect Arrested As Police Hunt Witnesses

Officers arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of attempted abduction. He remains in custody as police continue their investigation.

Detective Inspector Chris Aunins of GMP’s 1 Division urged anyone with information to come forward. “This incident may worry residents, but we’re working around the clock to get answers,” he said.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area before, during, or after the incident, especially if they have dashcam or doorbell footage.
