Police have launched a probe after a woman’s body was found in Kings Mill Reservoir, Sutton-in-Ashfield. The grim discovery was made around 11am today when a member of the public spotted the body in the water.
Police Seal Off Reservoir
Officers quickly sealed off the scene with a large police cordon as forensic teams scoured the area. Nottinghamshire Police are scrambling to uncover how the woman ended up in the reservoir.
Death Treated as Unexplained
Detective Inspector James Oakton said: “We are working to understand how this woman came to be in the water and are currently treating her death as unexplained. As our investigation continues, we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything unusual in the area over the past few days.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Anyone with information is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 529 of 5 May. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be released as officers piece together the circumstances of this mysterious death.
