Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run on Newark Road, Ollerton

A woman in her 50s has tragically died after being struck by a car on Newark Road, Ollerton, at around 10.25pm on 8 December. The driver is believed to have fled the scene without stopping.

Paramedics arrived shortly after the crash but sadly pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Police Launch Urgent Appeal for Witnesses

Sgt Mark Baker from Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends following this tragic incident. This will no doubt have been incredibly distressing news for them, so we are deploying specialist officers to support them during this difficult time.”

He added the force is pursuing multiple leads and urged anyone with information to come forward immediately. They are especially keen to hear from drivers in the area who might have dash-cam footage.

Road closures remain on Newark Road between Kelsey Avenue and Sherwood Forest Crematorium as investigations continue.
