Police Release CCTV of Armed Robber Who Punched Shop Worker in Shanklin Co-op Heist

Hampshire Police have dropped CCTV footage as they hunt a brazen armed robber who attacked staff during a late-night raid at the Welcome Store on Arthurs Hill, Shanklin.

Masked Thug Punches Staff Before Stealing Cash

At around 10.20pm on February 17, a man wearing a striped balaclava and clutching a metal pole stormed into the Co-Op. Without warning, he landed a punch on a staff member’s face before demanding cash from the tills.

Another worker handed over the money, and the suspect fled the store, making off towards the nearby path.

Victim Taken to Hospital with Suspected Broken Nose

The assaulted shop assistant was rushed to hospital with a suspected broken nose but has since been discharged.

The suspect is described as white, wearing a striped balaclava, dark jacket and trousers, white trainers, and dark gloves.
