Police Crack Down on Reckless Moped Riders at Hardway Memorial Green
Police were alerted to a large group of around 25 youths causing chaos at Hardway Memorial Green on Tuesday, 20th July.
Mopeds Zooming Dangerously on Footpaths
The group, made up of both males and females, were seen tearing up and down the footpaths on mopeds. Their reckless riding put pedestrians and other road users at serious risk.
18-Year-Old Caught Carrying Two Passengers
One rider, an 18-year-old from Gosport, was spotted carrying two passengers – a glaring safety breach.
PCSO Ayres Brings Rider to Justice
Thanks to the quick action and determination of PCSO Ayres, the rider was stopped and questioned on the spot.
After further checks, the youth was reported for driving without the proper licence and slapped with a Section 59 warning – a formal notice to stop anti-social driving.
