Daylight Robbery Shocks Orpington as Man Attacked and Watch Stolen

Violent Assault Rocks Cotmandene Crescent

Police have launched an urgent probe after a brazen robbery in broad daylight on Cotmandene Crescent, Orpington. A man was viciously attacked and robbed of his watch at around 1:30pm on Thursday, 24 April.

The victim suffered minor head injuries but bravely reported the assault. Two suspects reportedly ambushed him before fleeing with the valuable timepiece.

Firearm Sighting Prompts Armed Response

Witnesses claimed a firearm was seen during the mugging, prompting swift action from Armed Response Officers. While officers swarmed the scene as a precaution, police have yet to confirm whether a weapon was recovered or even used.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “The victim was assaulted by two suspects, sustaining minor injuries to his head, and his watch was stolen. Armed Response Officers attended following reports of a firearm being seen. Officers remain in the area and no arrests have been made at this stage.”

Police Ramp Up Hunt with Local Support

Parts of Cotmandene Crescent have been cordoned off as detectives continue their investigation. Locals reported an intense police presence with several patrol cars arriving minutes after the call.

No one is in custody yet. Detectives are appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
