A murder probe is underway after the body of a woman was found in a SW London flat. Police discovered 52-year-old Antoinette Donnegan dead during a welfare check at a home on Este Road, SW11, on the evening of Thursday, 7 March.
Suspicious Death Sparks Murder Inquiry
Officers forced entry after concerns for Antoinette’s wellbeing. A post-mortem on Saturday, 10 March, failed to reveal a cause of death. A second autopsy is planned as detectives treat the case as suspicious.
Man Arrested as Investigation Intensifies
Detective Chief Inspector John Massey of the Met’s Homicide Command said: “Although a precise cause of death remains to be established, I am satisfied that the circumstances surrounding Miss Donnegan’s death are suspicious.”
He urged anyone who had contact with Antoinette in mid to late January or visited her home then to come forward. On Monday, 13 March, police arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody at a south London police station.
