Police Launch Investigation After Human Skull Found on St Helen's Beach

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police have opened an investigation following the grim discovery of a human skull fragment on Duver Beach, St Helen’s.

The remains were spotted by a resident out for a walk on Sunday afternoon. Officers rushed to the scene after the fragment washed up on the shore.

Identity and Details Still a Mystery

A police spokesperson confirmed it’s unclear how long the remains have been at the beach. The age, gender, and identity of the deceased are all unknown at this stage.

Investigators have contacted families of missing persons from the Hampshire area as part of their enquiries.

“We have recovered part of the body and we are waiting for low tide to see if we can recover the rest,” said the police spokesman.
