Chaos erupted on Newport’s Coppins Bridge this Tuesday evening as a driver was violently yanked from his vehicle and subjected to a savage attack.
Shocking Attack After Crash
The drama unfolded just before 6pm when a collision sparked tempers to boil over. One driver, reportedly jumping out of a silver Nissan Qashqai, dragged the victim—who wore a red and black top—from his car. What followed was a brutal punch-up where the attacker repeatedly struck the man before he was thrown over the car and slammed against a wall.
Witnesses Speak Out
Concerned witnesses described the scene as “hot-headed” and “not looking nice.” One onlooker, with children in the car, said, “I just can’t believe this has happened on our pretty Island.”
Police Launch Investigation
Hampshire Constabulary have opened an investigation, while paramedics from the Isle of Wight ambulance service treated the victim at the scene. Police believe several people witnessed the violent attack and are urging anyone with Dashcam footage or information to come forward.
