Police Officer Seriously Assaulted in Dartmouth Road Chase
Drama unfolded at around 7.12pm when officers chased a suspect vehicle along Dartmouth Road, NW4. The suspect suddenly jumped out and fled on foot into an alleyway near Park Road.
Brutal Struggle in Alleyway
When an officer confronted the man, a fierce struggle broke out. The officer was seriously assaulted during the scuffle. The suspect managed to escape before police backup arrived.
Suspect Caught and Held on Attempted Murder Charge
Police later tracked down and arrested the suspect on suspicion of attempted murder. Thankfully, the officer’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A crime scene remains in place as enquiries continue.
