Chase Ends in More Violence
Officers gave chase and caught the suspect nearby. He was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. But the trouble didn’t stop there. At a north London police station, the man attacked two more officers and hurled racist abuse at staff.
Officer Collapses, Rushed to Hospital
One officer hit during the initial assault collapsed shortly after the attack. Colleagues provided emergency first aid and rushed him to hospital, where he remains in stable condition receiving treatment.
Chief Inspector Praises Brave Officers
“Police officers go to work every day with the primary goal of protecting the public,” said Chief Inspector Karl Curran. “Today, a man acting aggressively towards the public injured several officers. One remains in hospital. Our thoughts are with him, his family, and his colleagues.”
“I’d like to commend the officers who rushed to his aid and provided first aid.”
