Gunfire in Southwark: Police Hunt Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detectives are urgently appealing for witnesses after shots were fired in Southwark on Sunday evening, 7 May.
Shots Fired in Lyndhurst Way
The alarm was raised at 6.13pm when a passerby reported hearing a gunshot on Lyndhurst Way, SE15.
Police rushed to the scene and found two men linked to the incident. Initial investigations reveal the pair were sitting in a car when two suspects on a moped opened fire.
Victims’ Hair-Raising Escape Ends in Crash
Trying to get away, the victims’ vehicle smashed into an empty car and flipped over.
One victim fled on foot but was shot while hiding in a garden on Ivanhoe Road. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
The other man suffered injuries from the crash, also reported as non-life-threatening.
Police believe a third person may have been in the vehicle and are working to locate them.

Detective Inspector Mat Freeman of the Met’s Specialist Crime North said: “We know that when this incident happened there were members of the public and vehicles nearby.”
“We want to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around that time. If you were driving past and captured footage on dashcam, or if your doorbell camera caught anything, please come forward.”
“No detail is too small — even the tiniest piece of information could help piece together what happened.”
