Woman Found Distressed After Alleged Attack
At around 7pm tonight, a member of the public found a distressed woman on Newlands Avenue and called police. The woman, in her thirties, revealed she had been raped by a man in nearby Edmonds Park.

A police cordon remains in place at Edmonds Park while officers scour the area for clues. Trained support officers are helping the victim through this traumatic time.

“We are in the early stages of this investigation and want to ensure the victim gets the support she needs,” said Det Ch Insp Mark Glover.
“If you saw anything suspicious near Edmonds Park around 7pm, even minor details could help. Please come forward.”
