Blaze Breaks Out in Southampton Flat – Roof Collapses
Fire crews from Southsea, Cosham, Portchester, and Havant raced to a fire at a first-floor flat above a shop on Fawcett Road at 9.45pm last night.
Smoke and flames were pouring out when firefighters arrived. The fire quickly spread into the roof, which later collapsed.
No Injuries as Neighbours Evacuate
Thankfully, no one was hurt. Nearby residents managed to get out safely before the blaze worsened.
Police officers from Hampshire Constabulary coordinated on site, while the electricity company cut the power externally—necessary after the roof gave way.
