Brazen JCB Raid Sees Cashpoint Stolen from Staplehurst Petrol Station

Kent Police are hunting crooks who used a JCB digger to rip a cash machine from a petrol station wall in Staplehurst.

ATM Torn Off Wall in Dead of Night

The thieves struck just after 2.50am on Saturday, January 25, 2020. They targeted the Esso garage at Iden Park, Cranbrook Road, using a JCB to smash the ATM from the building.

Getaway Involving Multiple Vehicles

The stolen cash machine was loaded onto a light-coloured flatbed van. It sped off in convoy with a white or silver Mitsubishi Shogun and a dark hatchback, making a clean getaway.

Major Damage and Police Appeal

The petrol station suffered significant damage during the raid. Kent’s Serious Crime Directorate detectives are now hunting the culprits.
