Wedding Party in Wolverhampton Rocked by Reckless Gunfire
A wedding celebration in Wolverhampton turned into a nightmare after a “totally reckless” shooting put over 100 guests in serious danger. West Midlands Police say it was pure luck no one was hurt.
Gunfire Erupts Outside Gujarati Association
The chaos unfolded at around 9.30pm on Saturday outside the Gujarati Association on Mander Street, Merridale. An unknown man jumped out of a car and opened fire towards the wedding party. Shots were fired back in response, sparking a dangerous exchange.
Police Launch Full Investigation
- No injuries were reported despite the hail of bullets.
- West Midlands Police swiftly descended on the scene to investigate.
- A vehicle damaged during the shooting is now being examined for forensic clues.
“This attack was totally reckless,” said Ch Insp Paul Southern. “The fact no one was seriously hurt is down to luck, not any safety measures.”
He urged anyone with information to come forward and help police catch those responsible.
