‘Distracted Granny’ Robbed in Bold Afternoon Heist
On Sunday, 13 June 2021, a brazen thief struck twice in broad daylight, targeting two homes in Kent. The first was an elderly woman on Bow Road, Wateringbury, who was duped and robbed in her own garden around 2.15pm.
The suspect distracted the woman, then sneaked into her house. He escaped heading towards the local train station, making off with her handbag, cash, bank cards, and jewellery — including a distinctive snake-pattern necklace.
Second Burglary Could Be Linked
A separate burglary happened the same afternoon on Glebe Lane, Barming, just a short distance away. The homeowner found her property ransacked and a large haul of valuables missing, including:
- Gold locket with a photo of her husband
- Gold engagement ring
- Cash
- Several old coins
