Man Falls from M1 Motorway Bridge – Chaos as Emergency Services Rush In
Emergency services were scrambled to the M1 motorway this afternoon following reports that a man has fallen from a motorway bridge. The shocking incident happened just after 2.30pm on Monday.
Full Lockdown on M1: Both Sides Closed
Police, paramedics, the London Fire Brigade, and an air ambulance are all at the scene. Both northbound and southbound carriageways have been completely shut to traffic, causing major delays for drivers in the area.
Motorists are being urged to find alternative routes to avoid the chaos.
Official Diversion Routes to Dodge the M1 Block
A Highways England spokesperson said: “All emergency services, including an Air Ambulance, are in attendance. Our Traffic Officers are assisting with managing the traffic on scene.”
Southbound drivers: Follow the hollow circle diversion symbol.
- Exit M1 at Junction 4
- Join A41 Watford Bypass
- At first roundabout, take first exit onto A41 Edgware Way
- At Apex Corner roundabout, take second exit onto A1 Watford Way
- At Mill Hill Circus roundabout, take second exit to continue on A1 Edgware Bypass/Watford Way
- At Fiveways Corner interchange, take second exit onto A41 Watford Way southbound toward Central London
- Continue through Colindale and Hendon Central interchanges
- At Brent Cross interchange, exit A41 and take third exit onto A406 North Circular (anti-clockwise)
- Take next exit on A406 to reach Staples Corner interchange (Junction 1 on M1)
Northbound drivers: Follow the hollow diamond diversion symbol, taking the reverse of the above route.
