Sheep Butchered in Shocking Rural Crime Spree
Two sheep were found brutally butchered on Church Lane during the night of Sunday 8 and Monday 9 August 2021. The grisly discovery has left the local farming community rattled.
Police Probe Expert Meat Removal
Sergeant Darren Walshaw of Kent Police’s Rural Task Force revealed the animals had been slaughtered by someone skilled in carcass butchery. “This is naturally a distressing incident for the people who reared the animals,” he said.
Thankfully, such cases remain rare, but farm animals are still vulnerable targets for thieves, warned Sgt Walshaw.
Call for Vigilance in Rural Areas
“We know the impact crimes like this have on farmers and will explore all lines of enquiry,” Walshaw added. He urged local residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity.
