Callous crooks targeted Christ Church Portsdown in Widley, smashing their way in and making off with Poppy Appeal collection tins. The break-in happened sometime between 4pm on Friday and 8.55am the next morning.

Front Doors Smashed, Charity Tins Looted

Detectives confirm the burglars forced open the church’s front doors, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage. Once inside, they ransacked the place, ripping open Royal British Legion collection tins and stealing from a collection box on the wall.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Anyone who saw suspicious activity on London Road during the break-in is urged to call police on 101, quoting reference number 441 7042 9534. Alternatively, tipsters can contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
