Massive Hunt Underway for Missing Isle of Wight Woman
Police and rescue teams are still scrambling to find 22-year-old Rosie Johnson, who vanished from the Isle of Wight over 60 hours ago. The Glasgow native was last seen leaving PGL’s Little 1 Activity Centre in Wootton on Sunday night, reportedly drunk and saying she was heading to the beach.
Search Expands with Full Force
After a police appeal on Tuesday morning, a massive operation swung into action. The UK Coastguard, WightSAR, Ryde Rescue, and the National Police Air Service helicopter have all joined the frantic hunt. Specialists from Hampshire Search and Rescue have been flown in to bolster Isle of Wight teams.
Drone searches have been launched towards Wootton Creek and Firestone Copse, while ground teams comb wooded areas and nearby boats. A pair of wellington boots found in a bog near the Lakeside Hotel have shifted focus to that area.
Family and Police Push for Answers
Rosie’s co-workers spent the previous evening searching Firestone Copse, showing how desperate everyone is to find her. Meanwhile, her parents have travelled to the island, adding to the emotional weight of the ordeal.
Police have also questioned Rosie’s partner again, looking for any clues to her whereabouts. The community remains anxious as the search continues.
More updates to follow as police intensify efforts to find Rosie Johnson safe and sound.
