Serial Killer Steve Wright Re-Arrested Over 1999 Teen Murder
Police have re-arrested notorious serial killer Steve Wright in connection with the long-unsolved murder of 17-year-old Victoria Hall from Trimley St Mary.
Victoria’s Final Night Uncovered
Victoria Hall was last seen alive in the early hours of Sunday, September 19, 1999, on High Road, Trimley St Mary. She had spent the evening with a friend at the Bandbox nightclub in Felixstowe. After leaving the club around 1am, the pair grabbed food at the Bodrum Grill on Undercliff Road West.
They parted ways at about 2:20am near High Road and Faulkeners Way—just yards from Victoria’s home. When she didn’t return, her worried parents alerted police, sparking a missing person investigation.
Body Found Five Days Later
Tragically, Victoria’s naked body was found five days later by a dog walker in a ditch on Creeting Lane, Creeting St Peter—some 25 miles from where she was last seen.
Cold Case Reopened, Wright Back in Custody
In 2019, Suffolk Police launched a fresh inquiry under Operation Avon after new information emerged. Wright, who had never been arrested for this case before, was first detained in July 2021 but released under investigation.
However, on December 6, 2021, Wright was re-arrested on suspicion of Victoria’s murder and held for questioning. He is currently released under investigation as inquiries continue.
