Sexual Assault Shocker in Southampton’s Hoglands Park
Police are hunting a man after a 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Hoglands Park, Southampton, in the early hours of Saturday, 11 March.
The Shocking Incident
At around 1.30am, the victim was walking through the park when an unknown man approached her. He struck up a conversation before suddenly grabbing her and assaulting her over her clothing.
After the attack, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Suspect Description
- Asian or Arabic appearance
- About 5ft 6ins tall
- Average build
- Short black hair
- Moustache
- Wearing a distinctive patterned yellow jacket
Police Appeal
Detective Inspector Joanne Beresford said: “This incident was understandably very distressing for the young woman involved. We know this will also cause concern for the wider community who use these public spaces.”
Officers urge anyone with information to come forward to aid the investigation.
