Sheep Heist Shocks Warwickshire Farmers
Warwickshire Police are hot on the trail of sheep rustlers after over 100 sheep vanished from local fields between July and August. The daring thefts have left farmers rattled and authorities on high alert.
Two Major Thefts Rock the Region
- First hit: Between 12-25 July, 22 lambs about six months old were nicked from fields between Loxley and Wellesbourne.
- Second, bigger haul: From 9-21 August, a whopping 88 ewes and lambs disappeared near Kenilworth.
The Rural Crime Team is teaming up with partners to crack the case. Police fear the stolen sheep could have been slaughtered illegally. What’s worse, reports of missing sheep are now coming in from nearby areas, hinting at a wider criminal network.
Police Plea: Spot Something Suspicious? Speak Up!
Warwickshire Police want witnesses to come forward, especially if you noticed strange activity or unusual vehicles near the theft zones during the crime windows. PC 1248 Taylor is leading the probe and stresses every tip counts.
