Two Stabbed in Late-Night Brawl Outside Sportsman Pub
Shock violence erupted near the Sportsman pub on Shinfield Road just before midnight. Police raced to the scene at 11.34pm after two men in their twenties were stabbed during what is believed to be a disorderly fight.
Victims Hospitalised, Six Men Arrested
The victims suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital. Luckily, they remain in a stable condition. Meanwhile, six men have been arrested in connection with the stabbing but have since been bailed pending further investigation.
Police Urge Key Witness to Step Forward
Detective Inspector Laura Corscadden of Reading Force CID made an urgent appeal for a crucial eyewitness. She said:
“We are looking for a white, slim-built woman seen walking along Cedar Road at 10.44pm on Friday night, heading towards the Sportsman pub. She has dark hair worn up and was wearing a long black coat, a black cropped top, grey joggers or trousers, and white trainers or shoes.”
DI Corscadden added: “We believe she holds vital information about the incident and ask her to contact police on 101, quoting reference 43220486197.”
