Six years ago today, PC Keith Palmer made the ultimate sacrifice stopping a knife-wielding terrorist at the Palace of Westminster. The brave officer died from his injuries after confronting the attacker.

Deadly Rampage on Westminster Bridge

The terrorist drove a car into pedestrians on the pavement along the south side of Westminster Bridge and Bridge Street. More than 50 people were injured, and four tragically lost their lives.

Heroic Action Saved Lives

PC Palmer detained the attacker long enough for an armed officer to arrive and shoot the terrorist dead. His quick action protected countless others and safeguarded Parliament itself.

George Medal Honour

For his courage, PC Palmer was posthumously awarded the George Medal in the 2017 Birthday Honours. He was just 48 years old when he faced down the armed attacker to protect the public.
