Knife-Wielding Robber Strikes Co-op in Bognor
Police hunt witness after brazen robbery at knifepoint in Bognor’s Rose Green Road Co-op. The thug struck at around 5.45pm on Monday, 15 July, threatening staff with a blade and snatching cash from the till.
Driver Threatened Minutes Later
The masked man wasn’t done. Just minutes later, he tried to stop a car on Osbourne Way by waving his knife at the driver. Luckily, the motorist escaped unharmed, forcing the robber to flee on foot.
Suspect Swiftly Arrested
Within an hour, officers arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of robbery. Detective Sergeant Alex Lowe said: “Uniformed officers responded quickly to the scene and were able to arrest a suspect shortly afterwards.”
Police Seek Witnesses
Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw the raid at the Co-op or the attempted car stop on Osbourne Way. Witnesses should report online or call 101 quoting serial 1187 of 15/07.
