13-Year-Old Mariama Kallon Missing After School in Bermondsey
Mariama Kallon was reported missing on Thursday, 9 February. She went to school in Bermondsey that day but never came home.
Previous Disappearances and Sightings
This isn’t the first time Mariama has gone missing. She has previously stayed out overnight before returning to school as normal. However, her school was closed on Friday, 10 February, and this week is half term.
There have been two confirmed sightings since she was reported missing. On the morning of 10 February, she was spotted near Markham Street, Southwark. Then on the afternoon of Monday, 13 February, she was seen in Riddons Road, Lewisham.
Police Concerned for Safety of 13-Year-Old
Detective Sergeant Dick Nation from the Central South Missing Persons Unit said:
“We believe Mariama is avoiding going home. With her school closed, she’s been out of contact much longer than usual.
“There’s no evidence she’s been harmed or is in immediate danger, but her length of disappearance is worrying. She’s just 13, and we don’t know where or with whom she’s staying. We don’t even know if any responsible adults are with her.
“If you’ve seen Mariama or have any info, please get in touch.”
“To Mariama: we know there can be many reasons you don’t want to go home. You’re not in trouble. We just want to make sure you’re safe. We’re here to help — so please call 999, talk to a police officer, or ask someone you trust to contact us. It’s really important.”
What Mariama Was Wearing
Police have released a photo of Mariama. She was spotted wearing different clothes on each sighting: a black top with blue trousers on 10 February, and a black top with pink trousers plus a heavy scarf on 13 February.
