Police heroes from across the UK have been honoured in the King’s New Year’s Honours List, shining a spotlight on their dedication and service.

Officers, staff, and volunteers from all ranks and roles within policing have received awards recognising their outstanding contributions. Among the celebrated is Chief Superintendent Dan Murphy, National Secretary of the Police Superintendents’ Association (PSA), who bagged the prestigious King’s Police Medal.
Dan Murphy: A True Policing Powerhouse
Dan, seconded from Kent Police, is the longest-serving PSA National Secretary since his 2017 election. His journey began as a superintendent in 2007, where he quickly became a champion for officers’ rights and welfare.
