Police Snatch Drugs and Cash in Canterbury City Centre Raid

Officers and PCSOs from Canterbury’s Community Police Team, alongside Kent Police’s Tactical Operations Unit, launched a major crackdown in the city centre on Thursday, 1 July 2021. Their patrol, aided by police dog Max, ended with five people stopped and searched. The haul? A large stash of tablets, suspected cocaine, and £300 in cash seized on the spot.

Teen Arrested in Drugs Bust

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply. He has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue. Meanwhile, two other individuals received cannabis warnings, and another was referred to the Kent Youth Drug Intervention Scheme.

Community Police Sound the Alarm

Sergeant Shelah Thompson of the Canterbury Community Policing Team said: “We will continue to target drug dealing in the Canterbury district. We urge parents and guardians to be vigilant about any young people who might be involved in this illegal activity.
