Gunfire at Packed Christmas Dinner
The attack unfolded around 8 pm as families dined and celebrated. Sherry burst into the crowded eatery armed with a gun, sparking panic among diners. Video footage shows terrified customers diving for cover as shots rang out.
Tragically, one man was killed at the scene, believed to be the assailant himself. The injured victim, shot in the neck, remains in a Dublin hospital fighting for his life. Both men were known by Gardaí due to previous drug-related offences.
Suspects Flee in Audi After Carnage
Following the bloody episode, two suspects fled in a white Audi. Gardai have launched a manhunt and are urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee condemned the “vicious” crime. “That anyone could perpetrate such violence as families gathered together is especially disgusting,” she said. “This senseless violence has caused unimaginable suffering this Christmas.”
Taoiseach Expresses Shock; Gardaí Step Up Patrols
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, who has previously visited the popular restaurant, voiced his horror at the attack. He thanked Gardaí for their rapid response and confirmed a full investigation is underway.
Gardai have boosted uniform and armed patrols in the gangland feud hotspots of Corduff and Finglas. Meanwhile, the public is urged not to share videos of the shooting on social media and to report any useful information quietly.
Community Reeling After Second Gangland Killing in West Dublin
This marks the second gangland murder in Blanchardstown this year, after the shooting of Michael Ledwidge last month. Gardaí say there’s no link between the two cases.
The west Dublin community, and the nation at large, is left stunned by this shocking violence on what should have been a peaceful Christmas Eve.
