Massive Wine Theft Hits Shoreham Vineyard
A daring burglary saw more than 3,500 bottles of wine worth a whopping £106,000 stolen from a vineyard near Sevenoaks. The crime happened between August 25 and 26, 2024, at a property in Church Street, Shoreham, where thieves smashed their way in and emptied the cellar.
Raid Ends at Heathrow Airport
Police caught the main suspect red-handed on November 15 at Heathrow. The 27-year-old man from Romford, Essex was arrested just before he could board a flight to Latvia, halting his escape.
Police Hunt Continues
Detectives are still digging into the case and chasing leads to recover the stolen wine and find accomplices. The suspect remains in custody as the investigation unfolds.
“This was a substantial burglary with a significant financial impact. We are determined to hold those responsible to account and recover the stolen stock,” said a police spokesperson.
