Police Crack Down on Wild Car Meets in Swindon

Road policing units are cracking down on anti-social behaviour linked to disruptive car gatherings. Over the weekend, officers tackled illegal activity at car meets as part of Operation Staysail.

Speeding and Defects: Drivers Snared

On Sunday, police swooped on a massive meet of more than 100 vehicles in west Swindon. Sixteen drivers were reported for offences including speeding. One motorist was slapped with a fixed penalty notice. Another was ordered to fix a dangerous vehicle defect.

Illegal Stickers Banned on the Spot

Officers also found five cars sporting illegal view-obstructing stickers. All were ordered removed immediately to ensure road safety.
